“Weather Wits and Science Snickers” offers a reading choice that blends silly and science together. Kids tell me that they like that!
(Please continue reading below the image.)
The concept uses corny jokes and color comic-style illustrations to expose the reader to some cool facts. Easy-to-understand discussions explain the science within each joke and there are some really neat real-world photos too.
The drawings are the work of Sherman artist and Austin College alum Elizabeth Cox, and she did a superb job transforming my written outline into fun imagery.
The book is written for ages 8 to adult and I believe all science lovers will find it a fun and interesting read (A child of age 6 or 7 might enjoy it if they are a grade or two above their reading level). And yes, you might roll your eyes at some of the corny jokes too!
The book is offered online at Amazon.com in both print and Kindle formats.
