The coldest weather of the entire winter is in the cards for Texoma as Canadian high pressure dominates Saturday-Sunday.

This air mass will contain arctic air, so it will be very dry. The dry air will cool quickly under clear skies and lows will be in the teens Sunday morning. Lows may reach near 10 degrees in the very coldest spots!

This will probably be the coldest weather since January 18. The map below shows the expected position of the surface high Saturday afternoon:

>>>Southerly winds return Sunday night and begin to increase the low-level moisture. If enough gets here before the cold air is eroded, a few hours of snow or sleet are possible. <<<

Since moisture levels will be somewhat marginal, wintry precipitation would be light if we get any at all. Stay tuned as there is a potential for some icy roads late Sunday and early Monday even with expected light amounts of precipitation.

A milder weather pattern is expected to kick in next week as a westerly flow takes shape at the steering level.  Expect above normal temperatures to return Tuesday through Thursday.
