Mid-May Quiet and Cool Spell

Expect a period of rather cool and dry weather - in fact, unseasonably cool for mid-May. This should extend into the new week.
A deep and slow-moving low aloft will dominate the circulation over the eastern half of the U.S. through Monday.
The air flow around this feature will allow a northerly surface flow and dry Canadian air to penetrate all the way into the Gulf: not very common for this late in the season.
This should keep Texoma skies mostly clear; the dry air will be cool at night in the 40s, with daytime highs in the low to mid 70s. These numbers are more than 10 degrees below average for this time of year.
No rain is expected during the period Saturday May 14th – Monday, May 16th.
