UPDATE: Thu 30 Dec 2010 / 4:30p.m.
There's no significant change to my forecast of the past few days regarding New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.
The pressure gradient doesn't look quite as tight as with the Christmas Day system, so I don't expect winds much over 20mph on Saturday. The windiest weather will be Friday and Friday night, with partly cloudy and cold conditions and slowly decreasing winds for the first day of 2011.
Happy New Year! - Steve
The pattern and forecast is essentially the same as predicted over the past few days (see previous blogs)
Friday night will be windy and cold in the wake of an arctic frontal passage. This front will pass Friday morning or afternoon.
Northerly winds of 20-35mph and air temperatures near freezing by the beginning of 2011 will make for wind chills in the teens.
Roads are expected to be dry, but it will be plenty cold to welcome 2011 to Texoma!
