November 2011 goes into the records database as very close to normal temperature-wise, according to National Weather Service (NWS) data.
The numbers for Nov 2011:
Average daily high: 63.9
Average daily low: 44.9
Daily average: 54.4
The “normal” readings, which are a 30-year average, show the daily average as 54 degrees…so Nov 2011 was a very typical late fall month for Texoma.
What (thankfully) came in above average were the rainfall amounts. November average rainfall runs 3-4 inches across the region with generally lower amounts to the west and higher to the east.
Most locations received close to normal values for precipitation with many spots getting 5 or more inches of rainfall. Lake Texoma rose more than two feet during the month in response to run-off from the soaking rainfall.
Here are the November 2011 rainfall totals (in inches):
The outlook for the winter season (Dec-Feb) is for a drier than average pattern…but we’ll just have to wait and see how that turns out.
