As for temperatures, the northern half of Texoma saw an unseasonably early frost on October 4th, when Ada, Antlers and Coalgate reached 34. This was a 3-way tie for coldest that day.
Another round of frost affected most of Texoma on the morning of October 29th. A light freeze took place in several locations that morning. It was the coldest thus far of the 2010-2011 season:
Observed lows, October 29th
Antlers, Sulphur: 29
Coalgate, Marietta: 30
Ada, Pauls Valley: 31
Atoka, Ringling: 32
These are the only locations to have a freeze through the end of October.
Normal first freeze dates run from the first week of November north to second week south.
Temperatures as whole ran below normal at night with the many clear and dry mornings we saw during the month, but daytime highs were 4 degrees above the average. This daytime warmth offset the night-time coolness, so the month ended up 1 degree above normal, which is not a lot.
When all the numbers are crunched, October 2010 in Texoma ended up slightly warmer than average and much drier than average. This a typical La Nina conditions and I expect similar numbers for November: drier and warmer than average, with several bouts of cold nights.
