April 1, 2013
April showers should further ease the drought this week thanks to a well-defined upper trough.
It will be a chilly and rainy period for April 2 -3 followed by a return to spring warmth for the first weekend of April.
Rainfall potential is for 1 to 2 inches with perhaps up to 3 inches in a few spots:

This will go a long way toward boosting soil moisture especially after other recent rains; lakes will need a lot more to fill up but run-off may bring levels up a foot or two since the soil is somewhat moist already.
Let’s root on the rain!
