Spring-like weather continues this week with above average daytime high temperatures. A west-to-southwesterly flow at the surface causes the air to sink as it down-slopes from the higher elevations to our west. This sinking motion both warm and dries the air mass, so expect comfortable and mild conditions through Thursday (discussion continues below map):

A cooler air mass is expected this weekend, but highs are likely to remain in the 60 degree range, which is average for the end of February.

The longer range outlook does show very cold air building over Canada by late this weekend, and this air may begin to move our way by the middle of next week, so it bears watching.

The steering flow may amplify some by next week, which would “help” this cold air move southward.

As you know a lot can happen in a week’s worth of weather, but in the meantime spring is in the air through Thursday.
