Texoma Christmas blog: Dec 19/20 UPDATE

Map above: Frontal position 6pm Dec 24th/ ECMWF model (College of DuPage)

UPDATE: 10:30.am. Sun 19 Dec 2010

Expect very warm and windy conditions Monday and Tuesday with a high fire danger, and a big cool-down before Santa shows up.

The forecast for Dec 25th continues to look dry and cold.

Model output is converging on a solution with a blocking pattern to our east, just like early last week. This will likely urge Canadian air southward by Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.

Since air sinks on the western side of the trough, it’s unlikely Texoma will get any precipitation with this scenario.

What is expected is a rather windy and chilly (but sunny) Christmas ay with highs somewhere between 45 and 55,and lows in the 30s to possibly 20s Christmas morning.

So it looks like fin weather to try on that new coast or sweater…but not much of a opportunity for snow man making.
