Rain is liquid precipitation, as opposed to other kinds of precipitation such as snow, hail and sleet. On Earth, cissp practice exam, it is the condensation of atmospheric water vapor into drops of water heavy enough to fall, often making it to the surface. Two processes, possibly acting together, can lead to air becoming saturated leading to rainfall: cooling the air or adding water vapour to the air. Virga is precipitation that begins falling to the earth but evaporates before reaching the surface; it is one of the ways air can become saturated. Precipitation forms via collision with other rain drops or ice crystals within a cloud. Rain drops range in size from oblate, pancake-like shapes for larger drops, to small spheres for smaller drops. Unpolluted rainfall has a pH level of 5.2, making it slightly acidic.

10-22-09. If this rain pattern continues, we could be in store for lots of sleet and snow this winter.

I live in Irving, but also have a new home out north of Bells, not there all the time but I expect my rain gauge out there will have at lease 5 inches in it. Thanks for keeping me updated on weather and rain out there!

Not sure where your rain gauge is located, but I live in south part of Sherman and I've had well over 6" of rain since last Thursday.
