Read to Win StoryTimes
The Sherman Public Library invites children ages 18 months-5 years old and their caregivers to join the fun at Read to Win! These educational and entertaining StoryTimes include books, music, puppets and more. Earn a new paperback picture book every fourth week of attendance! Read to Win StoryTimes meet on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 10:00 a.m. and the Fall StoryTime session will begin on September 7 and end on December 9. The Read to Win StoryTimes will not be held on October 6, November 3, November 23, November 24, November 25 or December 1.

K-12th Grade Homework Help with the TexShare Databases Class
Parents and students are invited to learn how to use the TexShare Databases to find K-12th grade Homework Help Resources on Tuesday, September 14 at 3:00 p.m. The class will be repeated at 5:00 p.m. This class will focus on the Searchasaurus, Kids Search, and Student Research Center interfaces. Learn all about your virtual library! You must visit the libray for log in details.

Fall 2010 Book Reviews
Wednesday, October 6 Rev. Neil Morgan will review "The Whistling Season"
Wednesday, November 3 Dr. Jerry Linscomb will review "Tinkers"
Wednesday, December 1 Margaret McCord will review "Christmas in Harmony
Lunch is provided by the Friends of the Sherman Library and will be served at 11:45 a.m. with the review beginning at noon. Seating is limited and reservations are required. This is a free event but donations are welcome.

Fall Book Sale
The Friends of the Sherman Public Library will hold its Fall Book Sale in conjuction with the Arts Festival on Saturday, September 18 from 8 am to 4 pm. There will be a preview sale for Friends of the Library members on Friday, September 17 from 5-7 pm. The Friends have several membership levels. An individual membership is $15 a year. Anyone may drop off book donations for the sale at the Library until September 4th.

October Youth Programs
Young children are invited to a spooky Pajama StoryTime on Tuesday, October 12 at 6:30 p.m. Enjoy Halloween picture books, songs, crafts and more! Come in costume or pajamas!

Children ages 12 and under are invited to take a trick or treat trip through Booville at the Sherman Public Library’s Trick or Treat Village program on Saturday, October 30 from 3:00-4:00 p.m. Children are encouraged to come in costume!

Teens ages 12-18 are invited to join the Sherman Public Library Teen Advisory Group! The first meeting will be held during Teen Read Week on Thursday, October 21 from 5:00-6:00 p.m. The Teen Advisory Group will help plan Teen Summer Programs, select books for the Teen Collection and more!
