TOM BEAN, Tex. -- Tom Bean is going green. City officials say a recycling program has been in the works for the last four to five months.
Starting January 1, neighbors in town will be able participate in the pilot program for free. The waste management department will be collecting the recycling items in blue bags provided to the residents.
Residents will just have to bring their blue bags to City Hall. City secretary Cathy Pugh says this is a pilot program, and she hopes it's successful.
If you would like to participate and you live in Tom Bean, just call City Hall.
