‘Go Red for Women’ Day

SHERMAN, TX -- Victory Home Health and Hospice celebrated "Go Red for Women" day on Wednesday.

Heart disease is the #1 killer of women in America each year. In 2003, cardiovascular disease claimed the lives of over 483,000 females.

Judy Bolen is an administrator for Victory Home Health and says this is due to a lack of education and knowledge. Bolen says the American Heart Association is doing a great job of making women aware.

"The work they do is phenomenal. The research they've accomplished over the past 50 years is phenomenal," Bolen says.

Participants were encourage you to wear red, come out, and celebrate being ‘heart healthy.’
