Consolidated Container Co. to expand in Sherman
SHERMAN, TX -- Sherman Economic Development board members struck a deal Monday with the Consolidated Container Company on Park Street.
As part of the multi-year deal, SEDCO will provide the West Park facility with over $123,000, which will be used to hire 20 new employees over the next six months.
There have been safety and wage improvements over the last year when consolidated container bought out the Whitmeyer facility.
.
"We’re excited to do another deal with Consolidated Container in Sherman," SEDCO president John Boswell said.
Boswell says hopes Consolidated Container will bring even more business to the area.
Land purchase approved at SEDCO meeting
At that same SEDCO meeting, board members approved the purchasing of 40 acres of land on Progress Drive.
Boswell says this land will allow another company to set up shop in Sherman, and he says all utilities are ready to go on the property, hopefully making it even more attractive to prospective companies.
SEDCO already owned all the land surrounding the 40 acres.
