SHERMAN, Tex. -- The “power of influence” was the theme of the Third Annual Community Breakfast on Thursday morning hosted by the Wilson N. Jones Foundation.
Hundreds of people gathered at Austin College for a catered meal and to hear NFL great and former Dallas Cowboy Everson Walls talk about being a powerful and positive influence in other people's lives.
The foundation also awarded the Emmett Essin Community Service award to Ellis Olmstead, a long-time foundation board member and community activist.
"It means a whole lot because there are a lot of people who contributed to me being here today. This is not a one-man show," Olmstead said.
Every year, the breakfast is meant to reinforce a community spirit in Texoma and to inspire people to do great things for others.
