Legislative Luncheons begin in Ardmore

ARDMORE, Okla. -- As the election heats up, some Oklahoma lawmakers are taking time to explain those hot issues. On Friday, the Ardmore Chamber of Commerce kicked off the first of their Legislative Luncheons, giving folks a chance to ask questions of their elected officials.

Local lawmakers say it is very important that people ask the right questions.

"It was Jefferson that said “We’ll stay a free nation only as long as an educated people vote.” He didn’t mean they had to have degrees, he meant that they would know the issues, be familiar with what was going on , and make an educated vote based on what they thought of the issue, and that’s what we need here," Sen. Johnnie Crutchfield said.

If you missed Friday’s lunch, there will be several more. Contact the Ardmore Chamber of Commerce to find out more.
