SHERMAN, Tex. -- Wal-Mart is lending a helping hand to local organizations. The Sherman store handed out six grants to businesses Friday morning in an effort to improve our community.
A total of $5,600 was distributed between the groups, which included the Sherman Fire Department, the Sherman Police Department, and the Sherman Public Library.
Wal-Mart officials say each company must go through an application process which is then approved by the Wal-Mart Foundation.
"Our company allows us the flexibility of grants to pass out to community organizations in need," Bryan Lambert at Sherman Wal-Mart says.
These are just a few of the many grants Wal-Mart distributes throughout the year.
