DENISON, Tex. -- The Lake Texoma Jet Center is gearing up for Saturday’s Country Cooking Fly-In. The organization wants to bring the 50-year-old tradition to Grayson County to let people experience civil and military aviation up close and free of charge.
Helicopter rides will also be available, and the Texoma 100 Air Race will be taking place as well. Pilots from around the United States will participate in an air race course, starting and ending at North Texas Regional Airport.
"People who have an interest in flying will be able to take an introductory ride with an instructor and see what its like to learn to fly," event organizer Steve Woolstenhulme says.
The event takes place all day Saturday at the North Texas Regional Airport in Denison.
