SHERMAN, Tex. -- The city of Sherman honored their employee of the year by giving him a new job friday…at least for a day, that is.
Sam Sisemore has been working for the city since 1990. On Friday, Sisemore was given the opportunity to switch positions with city manager George Olson and see what it’s like working at City Hall.
Meanwhile, Olson took Sisemore's place in the city’s solid waste department, driving around the city cleaning recycling bins.
Both men say they had a great time.
"They put me to work today, and it was a good opportunity to come out and work with the guys to see what their days are made up of, and at the same time the employee, Sam Sisemore, gets to do some of the things I do each day," Sherman city manager George Olson said.
"You know nothing like this has ever happened to me before. I mean, it’s a different experience,” Sisemore said.
Sisemore also works repairing mechanical equipment.
