The center opened on July 31, 1972 with 12 children in the basement of the First Methodist Church in Madill. In 1979, Mr. Alfred A. Drummond helped the program move out of the church and into an 11,000 sq. ft. facility named the Fran Drummond Child Care Center in honor of Mr. Drummond's wife. The new building allowed the program to be licensed for 124 children, and it didn't take long for it to be operating at capacity. As a non-profit organization, we depend solely on contributions from area businesses to make this invaluable service available to our community which is why approximately 20 years ago we were the first in the area to start a charity golf tournament.
