Austin Tooley sat down with Lisanne to discuss the Script Writing Workshop in Sherman this summer. What the workshop leads up to is a 24-hour film competition where participants have 24 hours to write a script, “film”, and put on DVD a video that can be up to 7 minutes in length. It has to incorporate some “secret” items that are revealed at the kick off meeting for the competition, to keep people from filming ahead of time. That will take place September 12-13, and the winners will be screened at Sherman Arts Festival on September 20.

There are 5 categories (age-wise), and the top winner in each gets a $100 prize and medals go to top 3 in each group. The workshops are to help people who have never done this get ready, or to hone skills. They last 3 hours, cost $5, and take place at Sherman Youth Center. The first workshop will be Tuesday, August 5, 6:30 – 9:30 p.m., and the second will Wednesday, August 20, 2 – 5 p.m.

Pre-registration is required due to limited spaces.
