ARDMORE, Okla. -- While Halloween may be just around the corner, the Salvation Army in Ardmore is already focused on Christmas and making sure families in need can share in the holiday cheer as well.

Christmas Day is just a little more than two months away, but the Salvation Army in Ardmore is already preparing to provide help for the holiday season.

The non-profit organization opened its doors for those in need to begin the appointment process for its Christmas Assistance Program. The program provides Christmas dinner, toys, and clothes to families that otherwise would go without.

The appointments will run through next week, but the Salvation Army tells us they fear more families will need help this year.

"We’re fearful that were going to see more families in need. Last year, we served about 800. We’re fearful that that's going to go up. I’m hoping for the best, but were preparing for the worst," Capt. Ernest Hull of the Salvation Army of Ardmore says.

If you would like to set up an appointment with the Salvation Army or if you' would like to donate to the program, you can stop by the office in Ardmore at 123 A Street SW or give them a call at 580-223-6176.
