ARDMORE, Okla. ― If you need help for this holiday season, your time is running out to apply for the Salvation Army's Christmas Assistance Program in Ardmore. The Ardmore Salvation Army held its first round of emergency appointments for the program on Wednesday.
People filled out applications to qualify their families for help, or to sign their kids up for the Angel Tree Program.
The Salvation Army tells us while this year’s application appointments started off slow, things were steady Wednesday.
"It’s making some difference. We're starting to see the numbers climb. We’ve done quite a few applications today, so were seeing an increase, which is what we were expecting, not as bad as we thought," Capt. Ernie Hull said Wednesday.
The Salvation Army of Ardmore will hold another day of emergency appointments next Wednesday. That will be the last time you can apply for their Christmas Assistance Program.
