ARDMORE, Okla. ― The final touches are being added to Santa’s Workshop in Ardmore. Friday is the grand opening for the community event next to the Festival of Lights. Kids of all ages will have a chance to do crafts, listen to Christmas music, and even visit with Jolly Saint Nick.

The event is sponsored by the "Ardmore Regional Trust Authority" and the city's parks and recreation.

"We wanted to give something to the community, do something inexpensive. But we also are doing a Toys for Tots drop off. So we want anyone that can bring a new, wrapped toy and drop that off. Especially in today's economy there are so many needy kids this Christmas. We'd thought we'd tie it all together, and benefit everyone," Teresa Ervin at Ardmore Parks & Recreation says.

The workshop runs from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

I wonder if the elves can craft us a tax cut. We would have a better chance of getting one with them than the politicians in Washington.
