ARDMORE, OK -- Sign-ups for Angel Food Ministries started Friday in Ardmore.
The program provides inexpensive boxes of food for people on fixed or low incomes.
Trinity Baptist Church runs an extension of the national program in ardmore. Officials there say they serve about 125 people each month, and those numbers are up from last year.
We talked to one woman, Nellie Cupp, who was signing up for the first time on Friday. Ms. Cupp told us she's been living on just Ramen soup, and without Angel Food Ministries she would probably have to go hungry.
"In fact that's what I’ve been eating for the last week is Ramen noodles. That’s it, once a day. I think it's a good thing because even if it just does your grocery bill for a week that's a week that you wouldn't go hungry," Ms. Cupp said.
Trinity Baptist Church offers monthly sign-ups for the program. For more information about how to sign up for the program, check the link(s) below.
