4th Annual Lights on the Lake
Pecan Grove West Park
Wednesday, July 3rd, 2013 gates open at 6 PM
The 4th annual Lights on the Lake event in Pecan Grove West Park, brought to you in part by Landmark Bank, will be held on Wednesday, July 3rd, 2013. Gates open at 6:00pm with a variety of activities, from Euro Bungee to rock climbing. The whole family can enjoy unlimited fun with the purchase of a $5 bracelet for each family member. A variety of food vendors will also be found onsite selling food and beverages throughout the evening.
The Pecan Grove Amphitheater hosts live music from two great bands during Lights on the Lake. Soundhouse Band opens with classic rock favorites at 7:00pm, followed by The Hunter Smith Band on stage at 8:40pm. The spectacular aerial fireworks display starts at 9:30pm, and the Hunter Smith Band returns with more live music at the conclusion of the fireworks display.
Parking near Pecan Grove West Park is extremely limited, so Texoma Area Paratransit System (TAPs) has once again partnered with the City of Sherman to provide rides from off-site parking lots directly to the front gates of the Park. This year’s off-site parking lots will be located at Sherman Bible Church and Faith Church. Expect a short walk from the front gate to Pecan Grove West Park. 4th of July Fireworks sponsored by the Rotary Clubs of Paris

Bring the family and enjoy a 4th of July celebration. The gates will open at 6 pm and the Paris Municipal Band is scheduled to begin at 7:00 pm, followed by the Blue Skies Parachute Team and the Paris Community Choir. Fireworks will begin at dark. As always the show is free, but the Bucket Brigade will make its way through the crowd to collect donations to help support next year's show.

Thursday, July 4, 2013, fireworks start around 9:30 p.m.
This Independence Day celebration will feature the band, Strongwood for the spectator’s enjoyment. The band will begin playing at 7:30 p.m. and vendors will be selling food, beverages and merchandise.
As dusk approaches, the fireworks will light up the sky at approximately 9:30 p.m. “The Lake Murray Fireworks is the premier holiday display in Southern Oklahoma. It promises to be a great show again this year. If you are in the Ardmore area, you won’t want to miss it!” stated Janet Bateman, Marketing Director for the Ardmore Convention & Visitors Bureau.
Viewers wishing to see the fireworks ignited can take Scenic 77 (Lake Murray Drive) south and turn east at the Park Office. Follow the signs and turn right at Lem Roberts Road to the R.C. Flying Fields then continue to the designated parking area. The fireworks viewing area has plenty of space for parking and picnicking. Bring chairs or blankets for seating. Local Boy Scouts will be accepting donations as this is a publically sponsored display.
This show is solely funded by donations; anyone interested in making a donation may mail their check to: Ardmore Tourism Authority, PO Box 1585, Ardmore OK 73402 and note that it is for the Fireworks Display.

Denison Annual Fourth of July Fireworks Show

Denison’s 26th Annual Fourth of July Fireworks is planned for Thursday, July 4, 2013. Last year’s fireworks show was bigger and better than ever, and this year will be no different. The public is encouraged to enjoy the show from Munson Stadium for a complete experience. Festivities will include kids activities, a hot dog eating contest, the BluRock Band, and a special appearance by Holly Tucker.
Free kids activities will include Lil’ Katy Train rides and an inflatable bounce house. The Water Walker Balls will be another fun feature. Food vendors offerings include kettle popcorn, ice cream, hot dogs, snow cones, cotton candy, and more. The Denison High School Cheerleaders will host a fundraising concession stand inside the stadium. Patriotic items will also be sold.
Super Dog Hot Dog Stand is hosting a Hot Dog Eating Contest as part of the festivities. The prize is $100, a t-shirt, and all the glory that comes with winning. The competition is limited, and entry fee is $15. Contact email@example.com or call 580-340-3150 to sign up.
Holly Tucker is fresh off Season 4 of the Voice. She was on Team Blake, and she is promoting her July 13 concert at the Rialto. She will be available for limited autographs and will have merchandise for sale.
Local favorite BluRock will entertain the crowd with their usual enthusiasm and familiar tunes. Tim Hoover will be returning from music school in England and will even play some original songs.
The event is produced by the City of Denison and made possible through funding by the Smith Foundation. Forest Park will have concession items prior to the stadium gates opening at 6:30. Stoney LaRue will kick off the 2013 Chickasaw Country Concert Series on July 5. In conjunction with the Lake Texoma Association's inaugural Thrill-N-Texoma event, LaRue will perform after the annual fireworks show. The concert takes place on the west side of the Roosevelt Bridge across from Chickasaw Pointe Golf Club.
Thrill-N-Texoma is a free event and includes kids, activities, local merchants, boat and ATV displays, and food and drink vendors. Festival-goers who wish to attend the concert must purchase a ticket to the show. Concert tickets are $33 each.
