Don't miss out on Sherman's 2nd Annual Independence Day celebration featuring fireworks and the musical talents of Brandon Rhyder and Jeff Allen!

Event schedule:
- Park gates open at 4 p.m..
- Opening band (TBA) takes the stage at 5:30 p.m.
- Jeff Allen takes the stage at 7 p.m.,
- Brandon Rhyder takes the stage at 8:30 p.m.
- Fireworks show is at 9:30 p.m., and then Brandon will end the night with a finale after the fireworks!

Event info:
- Bring your lawn chairs, picnic baskets and blankets
- Concessions will be available
- Bring the kids - they can play on the playground, and there will be a few other fun activities
- Wear sunscreen, and bring bug spray (just in case)

Parking (map will be available soon):
- Free parking will be available in the park's two grass lots on Canyon Creek Drive. Canyon Creek will only serve one-way traffic, traveling west, entering from Heritage Parkway. No vehicles will be allowed to enter Canyon Creek from Shady Oaks.
- Free parking is also available at Sherman Bible Church and Faith Church. TAPS will run free shuttles to-and-from both of these lots from 4 p.m. until the event is over.

Fourth of July Veterans Cookout

5:00 PM to 8:00 PM
Local army recruiter, Staff Sergeant Timothy Hargrove, is hosting the Annal Cookout at the Veterans Center located on South Commerce on the 2nd of July. Food will be served at 5:00pm. 4th of July Shoot Out

The event kicks of Saturday, July 2nd with a Friends of the Library Breakfast at 7:00 a.m., then make plans to attend the American Legion's Flag Ceremony at 9:00 a.m., and the Kid’s Bike Parade at 9:30 a.m. and the City-Wide Parade at 10:15 a.m. After the bike parade, stick around downtown as we celebrate with food, live music, vendors, gun fighting shows, stagecoach rides, an antique car show, bounce houses, and more! That evening bring your blankets and picnics to the college for an evening of live music by EXIT 51 and fireworks.

4th Annual Loco Lawnmower Grand Prix and Fireworks Display

Loco Grand Prix starts the lawn mower races at 6PM. Races feature 3 classes of mowers, stock, modified and super modified. Fireworks 400 at the Grayson Co. Speedway
This Saturday night, July 2and and Sunday, July 3rd at Grayson County Speedway, the Fireworks 400 racing for modified, sports mod, and stock cars classes. Fireworks on Sunday night along with the Southern Topless Economy Modified Class.
The track is located off Highway 56, 8 miles east of Sherman. Follow the south to the track. Racing begins each night at 8 PM. Please visit gcsracing.com for more details

Tioga 4th of July
July 4
The Tioga Volunteer Fire Department is hosting this city's activities, beginning with a parade at 5 p.m. at Tioga High School for everyone to either participate in or be alongside as a spectator. Following that will be activities including games for the kids, and food to include barbeque, nachos, ice cream and soft drinks, behind the city's school, and fireworks will begin around dark. Parking is available off Mohawk Street.
