SHERMAN -- The Texoma Regional Blood Center is low on blood and asking for your help. The chairs have been empty, thus so have the shelves. Officials say they are in dire need of donors heading into the summer months.
The center is critically low on O-positive and O-negative types along with A-positive and A-negative.
Officials say local hospitals have had to perform more surgeries lately, and the summer months don't help much.
“People are just more active and busy with their lives and outdoor activities and they don’t stop to think we still need blood and that the hospitals are still needing blood everyday," says Deedee Morehead of the Texoma Regional Blood Center.
