SHERMAN -- Many Grayson County residents whose homes were flooded are still in shelters Tuesday evening.
Twenty-two people made the Downtown Municipal Building their home Monday night. The Red Cross fed 38 people Tuesday and are expecting more Tuesday evening.
They also have a shelter set up at the Fairview Baptist Church, housing elderly residents who were evacuated from a nearby nursing home.
Red Cross volunteer Beverly Martin says anyone who comes to the shelters will be helped.
"It’s a place to stay, to have food to eat, to feel safe. We'll be with these people until the last person is helped."
The Red Cross is always in need of volunteers. To find out how you can help, you can call them at 903-465-1330.
