KINGSTON — A number of well-known local musical acts will pool their talents to help the Kingston High School marching band raise money to attend the AutoZone Liberty Bowl in Memphis, Tenn.

Popular area blues band, The Oliver White Group will headline Rockin' with the Redskins, a rock event scheduled for 7 p.m. Nov. 7 at the Kingston Multipurpose Activity Center. Other acts include Gabe Gorrell and Wayne Peoples of Gypsy Haven, Highway Gamble, Olivia White and Kingston band members.

Tickets for the event are $10 and are available at Kingston Sign and Design, Kingston Tag Agency and Kingston High School, or by calling 580-564-2384.

The Pride of Texomaland is seeking to raise about $30,000 to attend the Liberty Bowl.

The concert will be a unique event for area music fans for a number of reasons, not the least of which is the fact that Oliver White and Gabe Gorrell have only shared the stage a few times during their careers. Several performers are former members of the Pride, and another interesting story line is that Olivia White, Oliver's daughter, plays saxophone in the current Kingston band.

Additionally, several performers are former band members, including Gorrell and Peoples.

Concessions will be offered during the concert.
