WHITESBORO, TX-Just in time for Father's Day, a portion of downtown Whitesboro was closed Saturday to make way for the first annual Muscle on Main.
Seventy cars from all over the state of Texas participated in the car show, there were vintage cars as well as new ones like the Chevy Volt, an electric car, lining Main street. All proceeds from the car show goes to local children's charities.
Event coordinator, Dave Blaylock said it's the driving force to the car show's success.

"You know the thing with these guys bringing their cars out to show them and things, I mean, as long as it helps the kids, I mean, that's what makes everyone turn out. It's what makes everything fun and it makes the effort worth it all," he said.

They will hold the next Muscle on Main car show in Whitesboro next father's day weekend.

I totally agree, Kxii news is either after the fact or it skips over local news that residents would like to know about before it happens or while it is happening. You want get any new NEWs from Kxii unless it happens in Oklahoma. Just check out the coverage for the Sherman Artsfest or the Howe Bandbusters Craft Shows. Both are over for days before anything is said about them except for a two minute mention about a day before. These are two of the biggest happenings in the area each year and nothing is said. This area has a lot of things going on at times, but no one hears about them from Kxii until afterwards and then not much is said. No wonder others do not want the area as a venue. Wake up Kxii, old methods in a new age will not work. Jump twenty years and join the news media of today and lets heard new news.

I clicked on this local "news" story because of the Muscle headline. Big disappointment. Show me a Volt in 50 years.

My favorite part was the guy who lost in the motorcycle category throwing a temper tantrum, screaming, "IT'S RIGGED!" as he stomped away. Nothing like grown man behaving like a three year old. I wish KXII would have caught that on film!

I agree with Bill and Car Buff. And what about the hamburger cookoff??? Not one word about that.

Right on Car Buff, seems like kxii just shows up, eats a hot dog, and heads on down the road, there was lots of people to talk to, and pictures to take, but kxii takes the easy way out most of the time, they give "one horse town" a new meaning. This just ticks me off, a thirty thousand dollar electric car doesnt exactly exude the Muscle car era.

You mainly showed a Chevrolet Volt??? There were at least 50 other beautiful cars there but KXII focused on a Hybrid Car? The footage shown does not show this car show justice. It was a very nice event with numerous priceless vehicles.
