Choctaw Days at the Smithsonian

The Choctaw Nation is headed to Washington, Dc to share their culture at the Smithsonian!

June 22-25, 2011
Experience food, artwork, basketry, music, dance, language, pottery, bead-work, and so much more.

Daily Activities
10:45am Traditional dancing begins in front of the museum with the Jump Dance, Fast War Dance, Stealing Partners Dance & Snake Dance.
Singing, dancing, flute playing, storytelling, stick ball and more featured every hour.

Make & Take
Classes will be held on the third floor. All ages are invited to create a basket, clay pot or piece of bead work.

Rasmuson Theater
Films shown throughout -Choctaw Code Talkers and The Long Walk
1:30pm Saturday Re-enactment of a Choctaw Wedding.
