GAINESVILLE – The faculty, staff and students from the North Central Texas College equine program will be hosting their first Benefit All-Breed Stallion Auction to support the growing equine program at NCTC.
The auction will run Jan. 15 through Feb. 17.
Perfect Horse Auctions will host the benefit stallion auction. Stallions will be advertised to an audience in excess of 10,000 horsemen from the United State and other countries who regularly visit each auction, in addition to attendees of the many events hosted on campus at the Equine Center.
All proceeds from the auction will be used to support NCTC equine students and their activities, including the IHSA English and Western show teams, the judging team, as well as the stock horse team.
Donations and charitable contributions, which are tax deductible in accordance with applicable laws, are also appreciated.
The NCTC equine program is located on the Gainesville campus in the heart of horse country.
The horse industry is highly diverse and supports a wide variety of activities in all regions of the country. Of the approximately 9.2 million horses in the United States, nearly 1 million of those reside in Texas.
The Equine Science program at NCTC offers hands-on experience in training, breeding and management, as well as classroom instruction on the science and business aspects of the horse industry.
“Our goals are to offer a well-rounded, quality education for those students with instruction and experiences that mirror real-world requirements, and in turn put forth a hard-working, reliable student that will be a true asset to the industry,” said Equine Program Coordinator Bill Kaven.
