Household Hazardous Waste Collection and Electronics Recycling Event

Sherman residents are invited to drop off acceptable items on Saturday, March 23, 2013, from 9:00 am-11:00 am at City Hall (220 W Mulberry St). Please bring your most recent water bill for proof of residency to participate in this free service.

The following hazardous household waste items WILL BE accepted:
-Bug spray
-Cooking oil
-Concrete cleaner
-Pool chemicals
-Antifreeze
-Oven cleaner
-Drain cleaner
-Pesticides
-Gasoline
-Insect killer
-Fluorescent lights
-Solvents
-Used degreasers
-Weed killer
-Oil / filters
-Driveway sealer
-Paint thinner
-Lighter fluid
-Aerosols
-All batteries - including auto, boat and motorcycle
-All types of paint - oil, latex and solvent based

The following household hazardous waste items will NOT be accepted:
-Tires
-Compressed flammable gas containers
-Radioactive materials
-Biological, etiologic and infectious materials
-Explosive or potentially shock sensitive materials
-TSCA regulated PCB's
-Regulated dioxins

Keystone Enterprises will be on site to accept the following electronic items for recycling at no charge:
-Computers
-Monitors
-Ink cartridges
-Keyboards
-Cell phones
-Printers
-Televisions
-Washers / dryers
-Fax machines
-Guns
-Copiers
-Ammunition
-Small and big appliances

Additional opportunity for proper disposal:
The Texoma Council of Governments will hold a Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event, Saturday, April 20, 2013, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm at Grayson College, 6101 Grayson Drive (FM 691) in Denison.
