GAINESVILLE –Lifelong Learning, the non-credit division of North Central Texas College, offers Industrial Mechanics and Machining Technology programs, which now qualify for tuition assistance from Workforce Solutions Texoma.
Workforce Solutions Texoma operates under the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) which helps qualifying students pay for tuition, books, and travel for up to two years. Eligible individuals include employees who are laid off or trade affected, displaced homemakers, and income eligible adults and youth.
The Industrial Mechanics program is ideal for gaining skills and experience in troubleshooting and repair of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and pump systems. This program starts on Monday, Feb. 17 and runs through the summer semester, with a cost of $2,750.
The Machining Technology program teaches layout, blueprints, jig bore and grinder, precision measuring, CNC lathes, G codes, tool paths, and precision production. This program will start on Tuesday, Feb. 18 and run through June, with a cost of $1,999.
Workforce Solutions Texoma offers tuition assistance for several NCTC Lifelong Learning programs, aside from Industrial Mechanics and Machining Technology.
