BONHAM, TX - PALS students from Bonham High School helped wrap Christmas presents at the Fannin County Children’s Center. PALS stands for Peer Assistance Leaders. These juniors and seniors mentor elementary age students three days a week. They are also required to earn additional community service hours.
“We really appreciate their help,” said Sandy Barber, Executive Director of the Children’s Center. “This is the third year in a row this group has helped with the enormous task of wrapping presents for all of our kids.”
The Children’s Center is giving presents of new clothes, coats, shoes, toys and more to at least 127 children this holiday who are served by CASA and/or the Children’s Advocacy Center. “Unfortunately, the need for our CASA and Children’s Advocacy Center services does not take a break for the holidays. We may get some new referrals before we are done with this year’s Christmas Drive,” said Barber.
