Landmark Bank Contributes Nearly $15,000 to United Way of Grayson County

Sherman, TX – With 92 percent of employees participating, Landmark Bank’s branches in Grayson County raised $14,977.27 for the United Way of Grayson County 2013 campaign. That total represents a 19.1 percent increase in dollars given, compared to Landmark’s contribution last year. Landmark Bank is one of the top 10 companies for corporate giving in the United Way of Grayson County campaign.

“There is no doubt that Landmark Bank stands by what they say when they say ‘here for you,’” says Minerva Paredes, United Way campaign director. “Not only do their employees give of their money, but also of their time. United Way is very fortunate to have several employees serve on our board and committees, now and in the past.”

According to Amy George, trust administrator at Landmark’s Sherman location, the bank strives to raise awareness of the United Way’s activities among employees, encouraging fundraising to give back to the community. This year marks George’s third year as chairperson of Landmark’s United Way committee, made up of members from each of the bank’s nine branches in Grayson County.

Eighty total Landmark employees participated in the 2013 fundraising campaign, including 19 “Fair Share Givers” who pledged one hour of their pay each month to the United Way. In return, Landmark rewarded those employees with four hours of vacation time. Eight Landmark employees earned designation as “Leadership Givers,” pledging and/or donating at least $500 each. Total payroll deductions from Landmark Bank employees in Grayson County totaled $10,056.72.

Landmark staff took part in a variety of fundraising activities to raise money for the United Way, and they also learned more about United Way agencies through speakers that visited the branches from Grayson County Shelter, Inc. and the Crisis Center.

The following branches had 100 percent participation in the fundraising campaign from their employees: Sherman, Denison, TMC, Gunter, Pottsboro, Collinsville, Whitesboro and Whitesboro Downtown.
