Oklahoma City, Okla. - The Ardmore Beautification Council was named a winner in the best visual impact and nonprofit organization category at the 2012 Keep Oklahoma Beautiful (KOB) Environmental Excellence Awards Celebration.
By creating year-round downtown decorations that highlight the holiday seasons, the Ardmore Beautification Council boosted community pride and commerce for the city of Ardmore.
The group also participated in KOB’s Fresh Paint Days in Oklahoma program earlier in the year. By revamping the mom and pop grocery store, Key Grocery, this council transformed this area of Ardmore one gallon of paint at a time.
KOB’s 22nd Annual Environmental Excellence Awards Celebration was held at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum on Nov. 1. Five hundred guests from across Oklahoma cheered on the evening’s winners who make up the best of Oklahoma’s environmental best.
Keep Oklahoma Beautiful is a statewide nonprofit whose mission is to empower Oklahomans to keep the state clean, enhance its natural beauty and sustain a healthy environment.
