GAINESVILLE – A group of North Central Texas College fine arts students will have the opportunity to perform at Walt Disney World over the Christmas holidays.
The NCTC Singers have been invited in Walt Disney World’s annual Christmas concert called “Candlelight Processional.” The concert is presented at Disney’s Epcot Center ever year from the end of November until the end of December. There are three performances each night featuring a mass choir of more than 300 voices along with a 50-piece symphony orchestra and a celebrity guest narrator.
The concert tells the story of the first Christmas from the Bible. This year’s narrators include Whoopi Goldberg, Gary Sinise, Sigourney Weaver and Neil Patrick Harris.
The NCTC Singers will be participating in the Candlelight Choir for two performances on Dec. 17.
The Singers were selected to perform after sending in an audition video to the entertainment division of Walt Disney World.
“It is a huge honor to be chosen in this world-renowned concert which will be attended by more than 27,000 people over the Christmas holidays,” NCTC Singers Director Shane Studdard said.
