DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern Oklahoma State University will celebrate Homecoming 2012 with activities on September 27-29.
This year’s theme is “Faithful to the Gold and Blue” and the celebration, which begins Thursday, September 27, is intended to offer something for all current students and alumni.

Reception/Grand Opening of the Albert H. Brigance Center for Curriculum and Assessment 2-4 p.m.
Henry G. Bennett Memorial Library
Southeastern’s “Night at the Museum” 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Everyone is invited for hors d’oeuvres, music and good company, surrounded by Southeastern and Durant memories.
The Texoma Arts Council will present special exhibits and artists will be available to discuss their work.

Friday, September 28
Whang Bang Alumni Golf Tournament -- 8 a.m.
Silverado Golf Course
The 26th-annual Whang Bang Alumni Golf Tournament is scheduled for Silverado Golf Course. Registration begins at 8 a.m. and a shotgun start is set for 9 a.m. The Whang Bang has started a new, highly popular tradition that has legends from Southeastern’s storied athletics history serving as honorary starters. This year’s legends will be 1964 Olympic Basketball Gold Medalist Jerry Shipp and retired basketball coach Wayne Cobb, one of the finest Oklahoma has ever produced.
Distinguished Awards Banquet -- 5:30 p.m.

The banquet features introduction of the 2012 Distinguished Alumni, Distinguished Former Faculty, Heritage and Benefactor award recipients.
