SHERMAN, TX - Santa made a surprise visit to some area school kids Tuesday. Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital - WNJ and Santa Claus teamed up to bring presents to all the kids at Fred Douglass Early Childhood Center in Sherman.

Santa visited every classroom and sang Christmas carols before passing out presents, which were donated by employees at WNJ. Principal Michelle Eckles says the kids' reactions were priceless.

"You know some of the children, their Christmas may not be as big as some of the others, but I think it's really wonderful the way their faces light up when Santa walks in," Eckles said.

Santa told us while he almost always gives out presents on Christmas Eve, he made a special exception this year.

"It just makes everything right when we get to deliver Christmas presents a little early to special children."

Over 300 kids received gifts Tuesday.

I think its wonderful that these children were given this special treat. The children who attend Fred Douglas are often from lower income families or have learning disabilities such as Autism or Down Syndrome. The good thing about Santa is hes not exclusive to one faith or religion but represents the same across the board.... the joy of GIVING!!!

This is all good and fine, but are these kids being taught what Christmas is really about? Do they just think Santa is the guy who brings them gifts or do they know how he died on the cross for their sins?
