For the ninth year in a row, local judges, police chiefs, wardens, prosecutors, lawmakers and other high-ranking officials in the justice field will be putting on their aprons and serving up dinner at “Justice Is Served” to raise funds to help abused and neglected children in Fannin County.
Doors to the Multi-Purpose Complex in Bonham will open at 6:00 pm on Saturday, Nov 9. The event is hosted by the Fannin County Children’s Center. Proceeds from the dinner and auction will benefit the local nonprofit whose programs include CASA, Children’s Advocacy Centers and child abuse prevention programs.
This year’s theme is “Platinum Anniversary” as the agency celebrates 20 years of serving abused and neglected children in Fannin County. The Platinum sponsors of the event are Kwik Chek, McCraw Oil and Red River Regional Hospital.
Texas Firearms Training Academy will once again be sponsoring a BB gun shooting contest. Guests can purchase five shots for five dollars to try to win prizes and bragging rights.
Another highlight of the evening will be the live and silent auction. Morgan Hopson will be the auctioneer. Many handcrafted and home baked goods will be in the auction. Other items include gift baskets, gift certificates and other unique treasures. A preview list of auction items is posted on the agency website (www.fanninccc.org) and is being updated frequently.
Proceeds will help sustain a wide variety of programs and services for children. CASA provides abused children a caring, concerned, trained volunteer to advocate for them while they are in foster care. The Children’s Advocacy Center provides a safe, child-friendly location to go to when abuse is suspected. In cases where abuse is substantiated, the center can provide counseling, information, referrals and other support services to aide the healing process.
Individual, open seating tickets are $35 in advance and are available at the Children’s Center and Fannin Bank in Bonham and Puckett Family Clinic in Honey Grove. Reserved table sponsorships are also available for two, four or ten people. For tickets or more information, call (903) 583-4339 or visit www.fanninccc.org.
