SHERMAN, TX - St. Mary's Catholic School will be singing the blues Saturday night as part of a benefit concert.
"King of the Blues" Kirby Kelley will be putting on a concert at the school as part of a fund-raising event Saturday night. The event will include wine and cheese, and a chance to listen to one of the premier blues artists in the country perform live.
Organizers say it will be a fun night out, but also an important fundraiser for the school.
"The school relies heavily on fundraisers and donations just to keep it running, to pay the teachers and that type of stuff, so we have to put on fund-raising events and Kirby's graciously decided to put on a concert so we're pretty blessed to have him," said Bryan Bentley, with Bent Leaf Promotions, who is helping with the fundraiser.
