Veterans Day and the residents at the Clyde W. Cosper Texas State Veterans Home at 1300 Seven Oaks Road in Bonham will be honored with a special Veterans Day Ceremony at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 11.

Ron White, director of the Texas State Veterans Home Program at the VLB, will be the keynote speaker for the event. White is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. During the Vietnam war, he was shot down over enemy territory and managed to escape and evade his would-be captors. White will speak about the importance of honoring the sacrifice of veterans.

The Veterans Day Ceremony is open to the community and all are invited to spend some time with the heroes this day honors.

The veterans’ home in Bonham is one of seven across the state that provide top-quality care for those who have served our nation. Each home provides skilled long-term nursing care, comprehensive rehabilitation programs, special diets, recreational activities, social services, a library, and a certified, secured Alzheimer’s unit with its own secured outdoor courtyard.
