Austin College Presents Lessons and Carols

SHERMAN, TEXAS - Austin College’s annual Service of Lessons and Carols will be held at 5 p.m. on Thursday, December 6, in Wynne Chapel. The event is free and all members of the campus and local community are invited to attend.

Landmark Bank Contributes Nearly $15,000 to United Way of Grayson County

Sherman, TX – With 92 percent of employees participating, Landmark Bank’s branches in Grayson County raised $14,977.27 for the United Way of Grayson County 2013 campaign. That total represents a 19.1 percent increase in dollars given, compared to Landmark’s contribution last year. Landmark Bank is one of the top 10 companies for corporate giving in the United Way of Grayson County campaign.

Christmas Drive for the Children’s Center

Christmas plans have already begun at the Children’s Center. Early in November staff and volunteers began contacting the children, youth and families they work for to find out what they need and want for Christmas. Faithful donors and supporters have already started contacting the center too in order to find out how they can be a part of the effort.

Museum Toyland Exhibit to Benefit Grand Central Station

(SHERMAN, Texas) November 19, 2012 — The Sherman Museum announced today that it will present a holiday exhibit, “TOYLAND” from November 27, 2012 until January 5, 2013. The exhibit will feature toys from the Victorian period to the present today, including the first public display of the museum’s extensive collection of more than two dozen Madame Alexander dolls.

Local officials in the justice field served up the dinner at the eighth annual "Justice Is Served" which raised at least $28,000 for the Children's Center.
