ARDMORE, OK -- What do you get when you put 200 schoolteachers in a room with thousands of textbooks?
The "Book Caravan" came to Carter County on Thursday.
We know, because we followed the trail of teachers right to the Ardmore Convention Center.
It was the Oklahoma Educational Publishers Association Annual Preview. Teachers from all over the region came to check out the newest textbooks available. They sat in on presentations in an effort to decide which ones they would want to give to their students.
Teachers say events like this are extremely useful to them and important for their students' education.
"You miss things when you just look at a book. If you have a presentation, it gives you a full view of what is available." teacher Suzanne Bigby says.
The "Book Caravan" travels for about seven weeks every year and makes over 25 stops. Earlier in the week, they set up shop in Idabel, and on Friday, it will be in Lawton.
