HUGO, Okla. -- Hugo Elementary School is repaired and almost ready for students. Last December, administrators were forced to close the school because of potentially harmful mold inside vinyl wall coverings, in the duct work, and in cracks in the windows.

We took a first-hand look inside the repaired school on Wednesday. All of the vinyl is gone. They have cleaned out the ducts and changed the way the air flows to prevent future mold growth. School officials also had anti-microbial carpet installed.

Now, teachers are preparing their rooms for students.

"We didn't patch to take care of it; we have thoroughly taken care of it. We've addressed our problems in our roof, all of the duct work has been cleared, it just feels better, it breathes better when you're in our building," Principal Nancy Welch said.

Classes have been held at two churches in Hugo since December.

Students are expected to move back into the school next week after Spring Break.
