Bill Tredennick with the Sherman Independent School District stopped by to talk to Lisanne about a new free meal program in Sherman.

In June and July of this year the school district will again be offering free meals to the children of the city. Sherman ISD will be serving free breakfasts and lunches to any school-age child in the area. The meal program begins on June 9.

What a lame brained idea to have it at Neblett! Should have it at a lower income school like Jefferson! Stupid people. And it isn't the kids fault parents can't or won't fee them.

I can't believe that some people would deny a child getting fed!! You don't know what might have happened in their parents lives, that they need assistance! Just because someone is low-income DOES NOT mean they are lazy or stupid!!! I pray that nothing out of your control ever happens to your family, but if it should, I'm proud to be a "tax-payor" that would readily contribute to helping you! Shame on your stingy selves!!!

People should not have kids unless they can feed them. More tax payer dollars spent towards the lazy or stupid.

I think programs like this are wonderful. These kids do not get to decide where they live or what jobs their parents have or don't have. Usually the only meals they get are from the school. It isn't their fault. So, Anonymous, are you willing to let children starve because you perceive their parents to be lazy and unwilling to get jobs?
