Ardmore Middle School named U.S. Blue Ribbon School

ARDMORE, Okla. -- Ardmore Middle School is making the grade when it comes to academics.

It is one of just six schools across the state of Oklahoma to be named a 'U.S. Blue Ribbon School'.

State Superintendent Sandy Garrett says the academic-based honor is handed down by the U.S. Department of Education.

Ardmore Middle School will be honored in Washington, D.C. in a formal ceremony in October.

The City of Ardmore is expected to honor the school's achievements on Wednesday.
