TOM BEAN, Tex. -- Tom Bean Elementary School has received an exemplary status from the Texas Education Agency for the second year in a row.

Students that ranked 90 percent or higher on the TAKS test receive an exemplary rating.

This is the seventh time the schools received the high honor and the second consecutive year the school has been honored.

"I would give all the credit to the teachers, students, and parents that support our school district. I think we have the best of all three in Tom Bean, Texas- the best teachers, the best students, and the best parents," Principal Eric Hough said.

The school now has a new plaque and flag to go along with the previous others.
